Eye Lift - Before
Eye Lift - After
Inventor Dr. Harold Clavin, Board Certified Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon, addresses those questions and concerns which most frequently arise before Eye Lift use.
Q. Can makeup be worn with the Eye Lift?
A. Certainly. Treat this adhesive as a part of your everyday cosmetic regime. As it's completely hidden in the folds of your eyelid skin, it will in no way be affected by makeup. Be sure to begin application with a clean eyelid free of oils or moisturizing creams. Apply the adhesive first, then follow with your makeup.
Q. Is makeup required to hide the adhesives?
A. No.
Q. How long does it take to apply the adhesive?
A. Once you master the technique, it only takes seconds. However, since The Clavin Eye Lift is a totally new concept, a little practice is required at first.
Q. How long will the lift last?
A. The adhesive may be applied and worn all day with extreme comfort. In rare cases of people with very oily skin, it may start to loosen after a few hours, and should be reapplied.
Q. Will I feel the adhesive in position?
A. With the proper selection of size and correct positioning on the upper eyelids, you should experience no noticeable sensation of pulling. Comfortable wear is assured from one application to the next .
Q. How do I know what size to use?
A. The exact size for each individual can be accurately determined with practice. Always start out with a small size and work up to the larger sizes. The Introductory Kit makes experimentation possible to determine your best look. When you order refills, you will know exactly what size or sizes meet your needs. If you desire further customization to fit your individual eyelid, simply take scissors and trim the adhesive to size before removing the white protective liner.
Q. Exactly where do I place the adhesive on my eyelids?
A. Proper placement is the key to success. Position where redundant (excess) skin is present or where a higher lid fold is desired. It is usually placed just above the natural crease line at the level where you wish to develop a new fold, approximately 1/4" above your eyelashes. The location varies from individual to individual. Reading the directions carefully and practicing the techniques suggested are crucial to accomplishing a correct Eye Lift.
Q. Will it stretch the skin?
A. Absolutely not. There is no tension whatsoever applied to the inverted eyelid skin on which the adhesive sits.
Q. Will the adhesive irritate my eyes?
A. This medical grade adhesive has a very low incidence of irritation. However, you should not apply it more than 3 times at any one sitting, as this could irritate the eyelid skin. Should skin irritation occur remember to remove the adhesive.
Q. Can men use the Eye Lift?
A. Definitely. In fact, due to the heavy nature of some male eyelids, men often achieve even more dramatic results than women. Improvement in the field of vision is often experienced because the eyelids are opened wider.
Q. Will it leave a residue on the skin?
A. The adhesive has been carefully developed to leave little or no residue on the skin. It is advisable to store it in a cool place, away from direct sunlight.
Q. Can I reuse the same Eye Lift adhesives?
A. No. It was designed for one time use only. After it is removed or touched with the fingers, the medical grade adhesive loses its cohesiveness and will no longer adhere.
Q. Can I use different sizes?
A. Absolutely. You may wish to use different sizes on your eyelids at different times for a higher fold, or use one size on one eyelid and a second size on the other. A variety of adhesive sizes can work for you, depending on the effect you want to achieve.
Q. Will I see better?
A. In many cases (both male and female) a marked improvement in field of vision has been effected due to the raising of the eyelid skin.
Q. How do puffy swollen eyelids react to the adhesive?
A. Puffy, swollen upper eyelids may actually be helped in appearance by the medical grade adhesive. The Eye Lift tightens the skin and improves poor skin tone. If, however, the eyelid skin has broken out from other cosmetics, do not apply the adhesive until the condition has been corrected by your doctor.
Q. Can I use the Eye Lift while wearing contact lenses?
A. Yes. It in no way interferes with contacts.
Q. Can I sleep with the adhesive?
A. Although you can safely sleep with the Eye Lift, we don't recommend using the same adhesive for more than 24 hours. For best results and a fresh clean look, it's better to apply new adhesive each day.
Q. Can I shower or swim with the adhesive?
A. Yes. If the eyes are not too moistened by the water, the adhesive will stay in position. However, with prolonged exposure to water, it will loosen and need reapplication.
Q. On what age eyelids does the adhesive work best?
A. Any age, from teenagers on up. Anyone with full upper eyelids or heavy, drooping lids is a perfect candidate. Those who are looking for a dramatically different look will also be pleased with the results.
Q. Will wearing eyeglasses get in the way of application?
A. Sometimes. If you prefer, instead of wearing your glasses, try using a magnifying mirror when applying the adhesive to the lids.
Q. Does the Eye Lift accomplish the same results as plastic surgery?
A. The appearance of the eyelids certainly very closely imitates the look of the eyelids after plastic surgery, so it is a viable alternative. In fact, it would take seven years of daily use for the cost of the adhesive to equal one surgical Eye Lift.
Q. When I raise my eyebrows, will the adhesive be visible?
A. Because raising the eyebrows tends to loosen the Eye Lift, it is possible that it may be seen. We therefore don't recommend constantly raising the eyebrows which in itself is distracting and increases forehead wrinkles. A properly placed adhesive is invisible when looking straight ahead or even when closing your eyes.
Q. Will the Clavin Eye Lift help my uneven eyelids?
A. Yes, easily. Simply vary the position of the adhesive or size used on each lid. You might even apply it to one eyelid only, thereby evening out the lids.
